Mary Ann Braun
Mortgage Banker

“I have been in the mortgage industry for 19 years. Before that, I spent five years as an active Realtor® before becoming a lender. The best thing about my career is the ability to help people make good, solid financial decisions with regard to home financing. I used to consider myself a specialist in first-time homebuyer loans, having four adult children. However, as my children have grown, so have my customers – so my specialty now is simply taking care of the customers as if they were one of my own! My business philosophy is simple – put the customer into the same loan you would as if he or she were one of your own children. This makes the decision process very easy. Before coming to First Integrity Mortgage Services, I mostly worked for small banks that are now part of large banks and mortgage bankers. I joined First Integrity to be part of a quality organization that has a superior reputation. Our system of processing loans is called ‘cradle to grave,’ meaning a loan coordinator starts processing the loan upon application and works it through the entire process until the closing documents are drawn. This creates terrific cooperation between coordinator and loan officer! We work together for our customer! The best thing about First Integrity is the ability to provide excellent customer service to my customer base. In fact, the brother of a previous customer recently needed to finance a new residence due to a pending divorce. The borrower came to me thinking he would do a withdrawal from his 401(k) for down payment and closing costs. After consulting with the borrower, together we called his financial consultant to get the details on borrowing against his 401(k). We then weighed the options and penalties of doing an outright withdrawal, a loan against his 401(k) that would leave his investment whole when repaid, or a combination of a 401(k) loan and a gift from his parents. To my delight, he chose the last option, which carried the least long-term negative impact on the customer’s total financial picture. Everyone was very pleased at the closing table, and I was proud to be a part of it.”
